Hacker Waiver & Release

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. BY SUBMITTING YOUR REQUEST TO ENTER, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTAND, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS WAIVER AND RELEASE.

Acknowledgement of Participation

I acknowledge that:

  • I am voluntarily participating in the Hackathon.
  • Participation may involve access to software and services that are experimental and may have defects, bugs, or security vulnerabilities.
  • I am solely responsible for how I use, interact with, or test any systems during the Hackathon.
  • I will not use any sensitive credentials, personal data or any other data in my account, connections, authentication or elsewhere that puts me or anyone else at risk.

Release of Liability

I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, and assigns, hereby fully and forever release, discharge, and hold harmless CloudQix, LLC., its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, successors, and assigns from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising out of or in connection with:

  • My participation in the Hackathon.
  • My use of the CloudQix environment.
  • Any prizes awarded (or not awarded).

Assignment of Intellectual Property

I acknowledge and agree that:

  • All materials, ideas, reports, workflows, submissions, feedback, or other deliverables created by me during the Hackathon (“Participant Materials”) become the exclusive property of CloudQix.
  • I hereby irrevocably assign to CloudQix all rights, title, and interest in and to the Participant Materials, including all intellectual property rights.

Confidentiality and Critical Findings

If I discover a critical vulnerability, security flaw, or major system weakness:

  • I agree to report it privately and immediately to CloudQix.
  • I agree not to publicly disclose vulnerabilities or exploits without CloudQix’s written consent.

Publicity Consent

I grant CloudQix the unrestricted right to:

  • If I win any cash prizes, CloudQix can use my name, likeness, and Hackathon submission in marketing materials, media releases, promotional content, or other forms of public communication without further compensation.

Governing Law

  1. This Waiver is governed by the laws of the State of Maryland.
  2. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maryland.

Certification

By checking the box or clicking “I Agree,” I certify that:

  • I am at least 18 years of age.
  • If awarded a prize, I agree to provide a valid government id as proof of identity and cooperate with any identity verifications.
  • I have read and fully understood this Waiver and Terms & Conditions for the Hackathon.
  • I voluntarily accept all terms stated in the Waiver and Terms & Conditions for the Hackathon as a condition of my participation.
  • I understand that updated terms or clarifications to this Waiver and Release, if necessary, will be communicated to all registered participants prior to the start of the CloudQix Security Hackathon.
